In-room notification system

Working in a strictly pediatric lab, there are many times when the parent is attempting to interact with a sleeping patient and you cannot get to them in time to tell them not to disturb the patient, only to wake them up. I wish to set up a dual LED in-room notification solution. It would be controlled from control room and the tech would turn the green LED on when they feel it is ok to interact with the patient, then switch to the RED LED for when they should not interact with the patient.Of course very low level LEDs mounted over the head of the bed/sleeping area. I would like to ask for other members input on this.
