Accuity Assessment Tool

Postby epj1968 » Tue Feb 14, 2017 9:58 pm

Hi All,

Do any of use an acuity assessment tool to help guide the decision-making for patients who might need to be 1:1 or need a PCA as well? I use one at my site that was developed eight years ago at another lab in the area and it works ok, but I do run into occasional challenges/misses. How well has yours worked for you? Do you have a policy around the use of yours?

Thanks!

We have a policy, but we are a Pediatric only lab.
Anyone <4th birthday is 1:1 (HIGH) >4 bd 2:1 (LOW)
Anyone PAP, Closed Trach, Vent documentation, or soon to be HFNC of any age are 1:1
All other 2:1
Seizure montages seem to be sometimes both, so we need to firm that up.
So we have 3 bed lab with a mixture of either:
1 High (1 tech)
2 LOWs + 1 HIGH (2 techs)
2 HIGHs (2 techs)
3 LOWs (2 techs)
