It was $4.00/hr for me but I remember a sales rep stating his first employer bamboozled him into working for nothing for a period of time. Seems they told him they were fearful they wouldn't get reimbursed for the psgs.

With the closing of 19 labs in New England, licensing on the way in NY, falling reimbursement with the advent of HST, Im concerned with how the field will sustain itself. I work for 3 different hospials and about 2 years ago, an IDTF. The hospitals were billing $3500, $7800 and $10,100 for sleep studies. The IDTF was charging $2500. Now that HST is being pushed by 3 of the biggest insurance carriers, the field will have to re-structure reimbursement and services to stay alive. Does this mean less money to qualified techs since reimbursement will be falling? $10 might be the norm........

I'll wager my Phlebotomy certificate that $10 / hr will not be the norm.
