Our night shift premium is set and never increases, though I have no complaints. $3 on weekdays and $4 on weekends. If you strictly work the weekends you get another $2 premium. So since I elected to wok only Fri-Sun I get an extra $6/hr. on top of my base.

I've done that for stretches at a time.......... a semester when i was in school, around childcare etc. Who wants to work EVERY weekend to make a few dollars more?

Oh don't get me wrong, I hate working every weekend but it's a necessity. 5 kids and wife stays at home. That extra few bucks helps, plus leaves me weekdays open to work days for the 2 PRN jobs I have.

I got a new job about 3 1/2 months ago at a hospital in the area (Indiana). Because I was board eligible, they started me off at a little over $20/hr which is slightly above the average wage for other labs in the area. I also get a shift diff. and a little extra for working weekends. A little more work than what I did previously but well worth it! :D

The last lab I worked at payed $12/hr with none of the extras... :?
