Survery concening the AAST

Postby strawberri » Wed Feb 23, 2011 2:05 pm

Did anyone else receive this email regarding a survey about the AAST and the possibility of a new organization to represent us?

http://www.surveymonkey.com/s/828CC6L

Don't know where it started, but I filled it out...can't hurt! I'm not going to hide my opinions about this mess.

This was collaborated on by quite a few folks who are involved in state sleep societies, with the intent to draw more people into the dialogue so that all who wish to can get involved and affect what, if anything, happens going forward.

I filled it out but I was too skeptical about printing my name and address because I don't know who's survey this is from. Is it from the AASM/AAST?

I would want to know who generated this survey before completing it.

I did a little googling...this seems to be the genesis of the survey:

http://rtsleepworld.com/blogs/it-artifa ... stage-5-16

If I read it correctly there are aast folks looking to wrench the aast away from the aasm and take it back for sleep techs. But I am unclear if the brpt is backing this coup attempt....

It was sent in an email and I was asked to post it on Binary.....with these instructions:

"If you don't want your name on it...don't include it. If you don't wish to take the survey don't participate, its all optional"....:)

That's all I know....you may PM tcr104 if you wish based on the post above.

And Randy included the survey in his blog due to receiving the same email I did.

Good for whoever it is who wants to challenge the status quo!! The aast stopped working for us a long time ago...so it seems like a good idea to either take it back or start over.

That was my thoughts too....if someone actually put their words in action and produced a survey instead of always just talking and complaining....hey, I wanted in on it...lol!
