AAST magazine fee

Postby Sleepy in the South » Fri Aug 19, 2011 12:47 am

The AAST just sent out a survey asking members if they are willing to pay for a subscription to their A2zz magazine. Talk about milking the cow.

If they charge for it, I'll drop my membership. It's the only reason I join, to get easy CEUs.

Magazines and newspapers are becoming obsolete..someone should tell them to stop printing it, and just make it digitally available to paying members online for goodness sake!

Guess I'm old school but I like to have it in my hand to read. I'll end up printing it anyways so I can read it on the toilet. That's where I do my best reading.

Indeed, that's what I do for many of the articles that you, Somno, and others post here on Binary!

If they go to digital only, I guarantee you that people will NOT print it and it will NOT be read as much. Sorry, but I've seen it happen before. For a $100 per year fee, they should be able to mail us a printed copy. Don't get sucked into this bandwagon.

But fan, but fan, they say it is "cost reduction", and it is too "spencive" to print the big, colossal 10-12 page newsletter. Boo hoo those bad members, and them wanting SOMETHING tangible for their $100.

I have not been getting my copies of the A2Zz, not even when they put my article in it, and, yes, I am a paying member, right now.
However, I did get the issue that had the membership report with it in June.
