Funny...that's what my co-worker calls me as I prepare for a stafff meeting. (The printer is in his office!)

I prefer the term "job security for loggers".

Look at the bright side - job security for those eastern kentucky coal miners who need us to use more electricity so they can keep working?

The A2Zzz has already been posted on line. You can look all the way back to the Fall 1998 issue already. For the AAST to take away the printed copy removes a member benefit. The membership renewal fee of $100 did not decrease. It's messed up! The situation is messed up!

They have advanced viewing software now. You can zoom, slide, move, turn pages digitally, instead of just scrolling down a lame pdf file.

Hey Henry here is a digitial Advance, enjoy
http://respiratory-care-sleep-medicine. ... 111#page=9
I still have to trudge my whole laptop into the "library" to read the friggin thing while I sit on the throne...my best thinking time.
I will not read it unless driven to a specific article, just like a journal, who really sits through and reads the whole article.

So my point is....They should sub categorize the digital journal into threads of interest, so that the reviewer can go to website and review threads of interest, instead of the totality of the "publication" in whole. This would make a much more interesting publication.

I want that on a t-shirt!

The first go around at the university was for environmental studies. I can tell you this much for sure. I like paper in my hands!
I can read books and magazines all day. Computers and those e-read-ee dohickeys give me migraines. Migraines almost as bad as I get from sunlight.

Agreed. If we can get away from the frivolity about purple horses and stuff...The fact remains that many people would still prefer a paper copy, that this represents a reduction of member benefits, and that the AAST has not lowered their dues even though they must be saving millions of dollars a year (joke) not mailing out a hard copy.
